Metal-loving Albuquerque mayor wears Pantera sweater while signing parental leave bill

On Friday, Keller signed a bill granting city employees up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave, all while wearing a Pantera-branded Christmas sweater.

In a tweet, Keller thanked Pantera bassist and New Mexico resident Rex Brown for the sweater. In response, Brown called the mayor a “fearless, ingenious leader and friend.”

Keller is well-known among Albuquerque residents as a metalhead — in a New York Times article earlier this year, he shared his love for artists like Anthrax, Ozzy Osbourne and Sepultura.
