The Killers pay tribute to “¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe!” collaborator Luke Perry

ABC/Randy Holmes; ABC/Lou RoccoThe Killers have shared a tribute to late Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry, who died Monday at age 52. Brandon Flowers and company had collaborated with the actor in 2009 when he starred in the video for the band’s charity holiday single “¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe!”.

“So sad to lose Luke Perry,” The Killers wrote in an Instagram post.

They add that Perry “did an amazing job” in the video, in which he played a hitchhiking cowboy. He also filmed the video for “no compensation,” since the song was for charity.

“An honor to have him in the video,” the post reads. “He will be greatly missed.”

Perry died after suffering a stroke last Thursday.
