Sweater Kurt Cobain wore during his final photo shoot going up for auction

Credit: Julien’s AuctionsThe sweater that Kurt Cobain wore during his final photo shoot before his death is going up for auction.

Cobain wore the sweater, a green acrylic and mohair cardigan with a geometric pattern design, when photographer Jesse Frohman took his photo in the summer of 1993 for the upcoming Nirvana album, In Utero. He died several months later in April 1994.

The sweater will be available in an upcoming sale by Julien’s Auctions, as part of its Music Icons catalog. It’s expected to fetch between $20,000 to $30,0000.

Additionally, you can bid on a paper pizza plate Cobain used to hand-write a set list for a Washington, D.C. Nirvana show in 1990, as well as a 1993 vinyl single signed by Cobain, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, featuring the Nirvana rarity “Oh, the Guilt.” Both of those items are expected to sell for between $1,000 and $2,000.

The catalog also includes items from Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Elton John and Black Sabbath, among others.

The auction will be held May 18 at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City, and online via JuliensAuctions.com.
