Five Finger Death Punch has once again made Billboard history.
The metal outfit’s song “Times Like These,” the current single off their new album AfterLife, has reached the top of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, giving Ivan Moody and company their ninth-straight #1 on the ranking.
FFDP now has the record for most consecutive #1 singles on Mainstream Rock Airplay, which first began in 1981. They’d previously set the mark with eight straight leaders, which was later matched by Shinedown.
“Times Like These” is the 13th Death Punch #1 overall, which ties the group with Van Halen for the third-most Mainstream Rock Airplay leaders in its 40-year history. Shinedown has the most, with 18, followed by Three Days Grace with 17.
AfterLife, the ninth Five Finger Death Punch album, was released in August. Its title track also hit #1 on Mainstream Rock Airplay.
FFDP is currently on tour in support of AfterLife alongside Megadeth, The Hu and Fire from the Gods. They’ll launch a run with country star Brantley Gilbert in November.
